Having straddled several stylistic fences over the past decades, Mystical Sun seems to have out it all together with the surprisingly named and appropriately titled ³Energy Mind Consciousness². An edge of compelling electronics merges with spacey textural motifs that swirl and rise, subsiding into those places that only the expanded mind truly knows. With less prevalent chill out rhythms than the recent and excellent “Deeperworlds,” this new recording offers a journey through many worlds which are not void of rhythms but not dominated by the musical movements. As a result, the tracks feel lengthy and very well developed, as if a creative peak has been both conceived and subsequently realized. The artist generates a plethora of cavernous and engaging sounds, some of which seem at home inside (or outside) of a futuristic spaceship adventure. Ever floating, yet still well chilled for cruiser speed enjoyment.
